Children’s Health Insurance Program

CHIP is for children age 0-18 who are residents of Texas. Some of the services your children can benefit from include:

Check ups Shots (Immunizations) Prescription medicine Specialist care

X-rays Lab tests Hospital care (inpatient and outpatient)

With El Paso First CHIP, you make low premium payments from $0 to $50 a month, depending on your income. You pay from $3 to $10 for each PCP visit, and from $0 to $20 for each prescription. With our large provider network, your children can go to any hospital in El Paso, and see almost any doctor or specialist.

Many Families qualify to join El Paso First CHIP, but they don't know it! There are many ways to qualify. If your family income falls within the following chart, your children may qualify for CHIP. Even if your income is too high to qualify, you may still be eligible if you meet other criteria, such as having a lot of medical expenses, or a chronically ill child.
